Who is Dolly Sputnik?

Dolly Sputnik name was born as an ironic take on identity of Eastern European person born in the 90s Lithuania. Born in a twilight zone of Soviet Union collapse and begninning of wild and chaotic 90s era.
Drawing influences from growing up between beautiful forests, pagan myths, american dream, counterfeit adidas and counterfeit goods paradise, tacky leopard prints and rhinestone fashion, grandeuse cake hairstyles, loud MTV, soap operas and general Eastern Europe chaos.

Dolly Sputnik is an alter ego and lately a little DIY brand run from my home in Melbourne Australia. Everything is made in house or screen printed at home or really cool local studio Troppo (check them out!)The idea for the brand was born after I started drawing on fabric out of desire to make my own custom handcrafted prints ,avoiding digital printing and mass production means.
Retaining feel and texture of fabric prints, something more unique and also one off. It takes a lot of effort, time and patience to handcraft every piece, but I absolute love the process, so I hope you enoy wearing it!
